It's a Fabric Addiction

Bags Galore

If you know me, you know that one of my favorite things to create is bags. Bags for birthday, Christmas, get-well-soon, we're going to miss you, etc. etc.  I especially like to make bags for me, too! Here is a display of bags that I've created in the past.

One of my fave bags that I made for a mentor I had in Maine. I used a thrift store sweater as the
outside fabric, and even up cycled the buttons as a small decoration.

The Work Bag- with quilted front pockets.

Quilted Liner made with royal blue corduroy.

Veggie Aprons

Made these for some RAWesome  ladies!

Gathered Clutch

I love making these gathered clutches. Here is the one I made for myself- all crazy with colors :)

T-Shirt Reno's, Just for Fun

Chopping old tee's for fun, here are the results:

Can't throw away a perfectly good StoneCoast tee just because it's too small!

We're all mad here...

Boston Baseball tee a thrift store find.

Not an easy recovery, this shirt didn't hold up very well. Although it is straight from Indiana!

Organizers

Doorknob Organizer-  for small items (Linen and Japanese print)
Vanity Wall Organizer- for lotions, makeup and necklaces (Linen and cotton)

Missing Z Fabrics

After moving to the Greater Denver area from Maine, there is still one place that I have not been able to replace: Z Fabrics. I felt like a child in a candy store whenever I went there, and the various, beautiful textures, colors and prints just made me drool with delight! Do I really want to find a 'replacement'? Well, no, if you put it like that. But I sure would love to find another fabric store with the same selection of fabrics, notions and books as well as ownership as I saw there!

Laptop Sleeve

A paneled, quilted laptop sleeve for my MacBook Pro. I felt that I needed a little something new and exciting to help me finish up that last semester of weekend classes towards my masters degree. I love the way it turned out and the soft, simple fabrics that I chose. The blue, although looking like a jean fabric, is much lighter than regular jeans, although a similar texture; two cotton prints; and a strip of linen just because I love linen so much.

For the padding I used a quilted batting, and then up-cycled an old heavyweight t-shift as a liner. After making the sleeve using a tutorial, I realized that my anxieties got the best of me and I was worried that the laptop might slip out of the sides, as there was no sort of closures to them. I then added on two small pieces of elastic to make myself feel a bit better, and will have to add that into the design if I make future laptop sleeves.

Crayon Roll

Great gift idea for little ones!

Thrift Shop Art

Two baby tee's that I made for my nephew using thrift store finds and fabric scraps I had laying around.

Tea Bag Holder

A simple project made for myself and of course for gifting, too! It's a great gift for a tea lover, especially when you take the time to pick out some scrumptious teas that you know they will enjoy.

The bag is made with a red corduroy outside, red button for closure with a red ribbon, and is lined with a blue and white striped cotton with little red hearts floating on it.

Favorite. Bag. EVER.

Is it Snoopy and Charlie Brown sitting at a desk? The Jean handles? The Jean back pockets as inside pockets? The bright colored fabric on the outside mixed with a bright orange liner? I don't know what it is about this bag, but I love it! It is actually a laptop bag, and fits my MacBook Pro perfectly inside with a few other pieces of paper or smaller items.

I got the Charlie Brown image from a cut-up tee I found at a thrift store, and the same for the "Don't Go Drowning in the Mainstream" lettering, which actually comes from a Bull Moose Tee- my all time have record store way back east in Maine (if you are ever in Maine, you must got to Bull Moose!).
